So that’s it. I have completed my Executive MBA program, apart from my 10 years of experience working in the hospitality and tourism industry. For a certain period of time, I keep wondering to myself, what’s next?
What’s next? I’ve got this opportunity to join a new industry where the knowledge acquired will be more or less, necessary for me to pursue my future plans.
At the back of my mind, I am still thinking, okay, but, we also know that there are always pros and cons in whatever we do. If I am really good at the things I am doing and I know that there are still so much more for me to work on, and to achieve, wouldn’t it be fair to do what I would rather do? For what I enjoy and I can do that to help myself and the people around me. Isn’t true that everyone has a role to play?
I brought this discussion to one of my best friends – I asked if it’s okay for me to switch my career to something else. She asked me back: “In your industry, you are the role model for young people to follow. Why would you even think about switching?”
I didn’t know I even have that image to protect.
