Padel – a sport that’s part tennis, part squash, and all about connection – has been steadily gaining a cult following across the globe. Now, it’s making a splash across Asia-Pacific with the inaugural Club Med Padel Cup, a regional tournament series that blends high-energy competition with sun-soaked escapes in some of the region’s most coveted destinations.

Launched to celebrate Club Med’s 75th anniversary, the tournament kicked off in Singapore with the Club Med Prime Open at Prime Padel Dempsey, drawing close to 1,000 spectators over a weekend of thrilling matches. More than 110 teams faced off across 169 games, showcasing exactly why padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world – social, dynamic, and remarkably accessible.

A New Way to Play

Unlike tennis, padel is played on a smaller enclosed court, often in doubles, making it less intimidating for newcomers and a perfect match for Club Med’s ethos of inclusivity and shared joy. In other words, padel is a way for people to connect around a shared passion.

Singaporean duo Anais Gomar and Timote Loew emerged victorious at the opening tournament and will go on to represent Singapore at the Club Med Padel Cup Grand Slam at Club Med Bali from 6 to 9 November 2025. They’ll compete against other national champions from Seoul, Sydney, Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur for the ultimate prize: a five-night stay at Club Med Marbella, Spain, and exclusive Babolat gear.

Bali Grand Slam: Where Padel Meets Paradise

The Grand Slam venue, Club Med Bali, is a destination where adrenaline and serenity coexist. Nestled in Nusa Dua, the property offers sweeping beachfront views, lush gardens, and tranquil spaces for wellness rituals. Between matches, players can indulge in sunrise yoga sessions, Balinese spa treatments, or simply soak up the island’s famously golden sunsets.

The Perfect Padel Escapes

For those who can’t make it to Bali but still want to play, Club Med has made padel courts a permanent feature across several of its sun resorts:

Club Med Kani, Maldives
A private island where padel is followed by snorkelling with manta rays or lounging in overwater villas.

Club Med Phuket, Thailand

Club Med Bintan, Indonesia
Just 55 minutes from Singapore, this wellness-focused resort is set to reveal new dining concepts, upgraded rooms, and enhanced family spaces in 2026, making it an even more compelling choice for weekend warriors and long-stay guests alike.
